Camp Lakota, Woodstock, Illinois

Camp Lakota, located outside Woodstock, Illinois is a convenient, close-in location for a Troop to conduct patrol method camping and training, or for a pack to enjoy a fun-filled day or weekend in the outdoors. The camp is operational year-round and offers a choice of approximately 20 campsites and 7 buildings or facilities for rental to support or augment your camping program.

The Camp's office number is 815-338-6820. This is a single line and must be open for both camp business and emergency calls. Outgoing calls will be allowed under the supervision of camp staff only

Camp Lakota Facilities

EIGHTEEN CAMPSITES varying in size
PROGRAM CENTER Large upstairs room - accommodations for 50 to 60 scouters for meetings or up to 25 comfortably overnight or for the weekend. Small kitchenette with stove, refrigerator, sink, coutertops, and cabinets. Fireplace, tile floors and bathroom. There are no beds. You must bring your own cots or bedroll.

FIELD CABIN Has metal bunk beds that sleep 36 people. Lights, gas heated, oven, and range. Dimensions are 24' by 50'. Bring your own mattresses. Separate rooms are available for leaders or co-ed groups.
MOEHLING SHELTER 16' BY 32' shelter with panels removable for summer. Electirc lights and a barrel stove. There are no beds. You must bring your own cots or bedroll.
GOULD SHELTER Open on three (3) sides, one fireplace, screw eyes installed if you wish to use tarps (provided by unit - not available at camp)
SETON SHELTER Open on four (4) sides. No fireplace. Tarps cannot be used.



Camp Napowan, Wild Rose, Wisconsin

Located in the pine forests of Wisconsin, 7 miles east of Wild Rose and 40 miles west of Oshkosh, Camp Napowan offers troops the very best in a long-term camping experience. The camp offers a unique program to help Scouts grow and develop.

Situated on Lake Napowan and Hills Lake, the camp has a full and active aquatics program. Combined with the Flintlock historical theme for a variety of craftsman badges, an ambitious Nature area, three shooting sports ranges, and the challenging COPE Course, the camp offes a plethora of activities. Program opportunities abound which provide incentive and motivation for Scout advancement. It also enables them to understand and learn the positive value system taught by Scouting. Scouts are assured of having fun and developing friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

High Adventure Programs at Napowan

There are several different high adventure programs offered each summer at Camp Napowan. These include backpacking the Porcupine Mountain trails, SCUBA Certification at Devil's Lake, rock climbing at Devil's Lake and canoeing the Flambeau River. The camp provides trained adult leadership for each experience. Group sizes are limited by location and insure that each group experiences a maximum of safety and fun. To participate in a high adventure program, a Scout must be age 13 by January 1 of the camping year and be a First Class Scout. Fees for these programs are individually priced.

O.A. Cabin Total capacity of 22 persons.

Eastside 5 persons.

Sessions Total capacity of 8 persons.
Southwest room 1 person.
Northwest room 2 persons.
Northeast room 1 person.
Main room 4 persons.
Chippewa Total capacity of 5 persons.
Northeast room 1 person.
Southeast room 1 person.
Main room 3 person.
Chief Dakota Lodge Total capacity of 4 persons.
Northwest room 1 person.
Southwest room 1 person.
Main room 2 person.
Hills Lake Cabin Total capacity of 7 persons.
Southeast room 0 person.

Main room 4 persons.
Staff Huts Total capacity of 60 persons.
Capacity of 2 persons per single unit with 30 units.


Summertime Activities Available: Canoeing, Fishing, Hiking, Sailing, Swimming, Horseback Riding, Rifle, Archery, Skeet Shooting, Water Skiing

Local Activities include: Water Park, Experimental Aircraft Association, canoeing, tubing, tennis, golf, fish hatchery tours, action archery course
