Youth Protection Training...
Youth Protection Training is Scouting's child abuse prevention training/program. Every leader needs to recertify in this training every three (3) years in the Northwest Suburban Council.

Fast Start...
Fast Start is the first training every new leader, or leader in a new position, should take prior to attending New Leaders Essentials and their Specifics Training. Videos may be checked out at the council service center or viewed online below. If you have questions after viewing your Fast Start, talk to your other leaders, Unit Commissioner, or a Trainer (See Training Contacts under Training At a Glance on this web page).

New Leaders Essentials...
This course is for every new leader. It will take you through most of the basics of scouting that tie all of our programs together. This course must be taken once in your scout leader career in order to be considered trained.

Boy Scouts/Varsity Scout Leader Specifics...
There are four different and distinct sessions for Boy Scout/Varisty Scout Leaders: Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster, Varsity Leader, Troop/Team Committee, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. As a Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster, to be considered trained you must take Scoutmaster Specifics and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. As a Varsity Coach/Assistant Varsity Coach, to be considered trained you must take Varsity Leader Specifics and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. As a Troop/Team Committee Chairman/Member to be considered trained you must take Troop Committee Specifics. (Note: These are in addition to New Leaders Essentials.)
