Training Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) Training
Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is a one-day training event that introduces leaders and parents to the skills needed to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping. A BALOO trained leader must be in attendance at each pack overnighter.

The course covers preparations, site selection, parent involvement, health and safety, equipment, meal preparation and planning, campfire program, and introduction to outdoor skills.

PRE-REGISTRATION for the course is required as the purchase of food for lunch is involved. No walk-ins accepted.

This training is required for any adult who is in charge of planning a pack campout.

Outdoor Webelos Leader (OWL) Training
Outdoor Webelos Leader Training provides Webelos Leaders, Webelos parents, Cubmasters, and interested Committee Members with the information and skills needed to conduct a successful Webelos outdoors program. Incorporating the adage "Scouting is Outing", the course is conducted out-of-doors, rain or shine. Outdoor skills of Cooking and Sanitation, Campfires, Knots, Woods Tools, Naturalist, Forester, First Aid, Firebuilding, Geologist, Outdoorsman, Selecting Campsites, Tents, Bedding and Weather are taught in the program. The emphasis is on "Hands-on" Training.

OWL is offered in two formats: one day training or overnight program. The training is offered in Fall and in Spring. PRE-REGISTRATION for the course is required as the purchase of food for meals is involved. No walk-ins accepted.

Outdoor Webelos Leader Training is required to receive the Webelos Leader Recognition Award.
